I created Secure Love Co because I believe healing isn’t about fixing what’s “wrong”, but coming home to the most authentic parts of yourself. Sometimes, you need to meet the protective parts that do everything they can to try protect you along the way.
It’s about coming home to yourself, with compassion, patience, and feeling into everything that has been suppressed, and sometimes a little humour too. I want to walk alongside you as you reclaim safety, love, and joy in your life. We will work together through talk therapy combined with somatic and nervous system regulation.

About Me
Hi, I’m Emily Millward. Holistic Counsellor, Somatic Practitioner & Founder of Secure Love Co.
I believe that the quality of our relationships shapes the quality of our lives, and that secure, loving connections begin with the one we have with ourselves.
As a trauma-informed therapist, I understand how past experiences can leave lasting imprints on the body and mind. My work blends psychotherapy, somatic and nervous system healing, and attachment repair to help you gently release what no longer serves you, so you can move toward relationships that feel safe, loving, and fulfilling.
I’m not a blank-slate therapist. I show up as a real human. Compassionate, curious, sometimes humerous and sometimes gently challenging, so you feel truly met, seen, and supported. Healing isn’t about “fixing” yourself. It’s about coming home to yourself, feeling grounded in your body, and creating a life that aligns with your deepest values.
Whether we’re unpacking anxious thoughts, navigating relationship dynamics, or processing the pain of separation, I’m here to walk beside you with empathy, clarity, and tools that work in the real world.
Education & Background:
Emily holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy, both grounded in trauma-informed and holistic approaches to mental health. She is currently expanding her expertise through advanced training in energy healing at Jax Retreat, with a focus on nervous system regulation and somatic trauma work.
Before fully dedicating herself to counselling, Emily ran wellness retreats across New Zealand, Australia, and the USA, bringing a unique blend of experiential healing, community connection, and holistic wellbeing to her work.
With experience across individual and couples counselling, Emily integrates psychotherapeutic models with somatic practices to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care. Her approach supports clients to reconnect with their bodies, regulate their nervous systems, and cultivate secure relationships — starting from within.
