Relationships

If you are experiencing persistent feelings of doubt and anxiety in your relationship, then this is for you. If you have experienced betrayal or communication issues or insecure attachments, Secure Love Co is here to support you in your journey of love.

We know that relationships aren’t easy, but we also know that when you heal your internal world, you and your partner can thrive. Through exploring and titrating between the healed and unhealed parts of the self, we begin to explore wounding from your early relationships and attachments.

Anxiety

Anxiety is one of the most prevalent mental health experiences. If you feel like you are exhausted from anxious thoughts and anxious physical sensations overtaking, you are not alone. It may not feel like you will ever escape this overwhelm, however there are ways forward. We have tools and therapeutic processes to support.

OCD

OCD is a misunderstood and misdiagnosed mental health experience, often thought of as someone who is very clean/tidy. It goes so much deeper. It has become part of our mission to support those experiencing OCD including but not limited to; Pure OCD, Relationship OCD, Contamination OCD, Existential OCD, Rumination OCD. Somatic OCD, Forbidden thoughts OCD, Intrusive thought/imagery OCD. At SLC, we combine ERP, CBT and IFS to support you in overcoming and managing your experience. There is always hope, even though OCD tells you otherwise.

Low Self-esteem

Our sense of self is created over a lifetime. Who you are, how you view yourself; body, mind, spirit, socially. Low self-esteem can be crippling. It can affect so many aspects of our life. At SLC, we explore who you are, your life experiences including the joyful and the painful ones. Through psychotherapeutic, and tool based experiencing, you will learn to become confident in yourself. This will become a new internal landscape for you, and in hand change your external experiencing.

What we do

At SLC, we use psychodynamic psychotherapy focusing on the unconscious mind through relationships that are affecting you here and now. We use tools such as ERP and IFS to support you in coming back to your true self. Because each story is different, each session is catered to your needs. At SLC we see the individuals health reflected through the mind, body, spirit, nervous system and relationships. We work to re balance all parts of the individual.

Note

Resources outside of the sessions are provided to utilize through the week to keep surrendering to the process of coming back to the secure love within.

Welcome to SLC! This is a safe space for you to come as you are. I know that relational issues, anxiety, OCD and low self-esteem can be a grueling experience.; both at a personal level and within a relationship. But the journey of coming home to the self is so worth it. Worth it ultimately for the self, and equally for the secure love within your relationships. The work we do is to create a secure attachment within, and you will then be able to create healthier relationships with others.

  • ARE THESE SESSIONS CONFIDENTIAL?

    Yes. Everything you tell your counsellor is treated as strictly confidential. The only exception to this is when there is a threat to someone’s safety; either your own or somebody else’s.

    DO YOU DO SESSIONS FOR COUPLES?

    Yes upon request. Counselling can be beneficial for individual healing as well as couples healing and working through road blocks together. Quotes on request.

    HOW OFTEN DO SESSIONS OCCUR?

    Sessions usually occur weekly although sometimes more or less frequent sessions are more appropriate.

    HOW LONG ARE 1:1 SESSIONS?

    60 minutes.

    However, sometimes due to multiple factors, different durations can be negotiated in advance. For example

    60 minutes can go quite fast if emotional distress is high during counseling and a 90 minute or 2 hour session can feel more useful.

    Due to affordability and/or needs, some people opt for 30 - 45 minute sessions. Quoted on request.

    HOW DO I PAY

    I will send you an invoice via email. Direct bank deposit. Due 24 hours before the session.

    I AM NERVOUS ABOUT MAKING AN APPOINTMENT. CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT TO EXPECT?

    This is not uncommon. I would love to have a short phone call with you. I am happy to introduce myself and explain what the sessions entail.

    ARE SESSIONS AVAILABLE IN PERSON AND VIA ZOOM?

    Absolutely. I understand that in some cases people are unable to meet in person. Zoom sessions are a great way for you to be in a comfortable space for you.

    HOW ARE SESSIONS HELD DURING COVID RESTRICTIONS?

    All sessions will be outside until Covid restrictions ease. This is a great way to be in nature and get some fresh air. Otherwise sessions will be held on zoom.

    HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

    DO I STILL NEED TO PAY IF I CANCEL MY SESSION?

    We have a cancellation policy which requires full payment 24 hours before your session. If cancellation is made after this 24 hour period, a non-refundable 50% deposit will be kept. No-shows will incur the full fee.

    WHAT ARE YOUR OFFICE HOURS?

    9am - 7pm Monday - Friday

    Weekends/after hour appointments can be made upon request but are limited.

    WHAT DO I DO IF I WOULD LIKE TO DISCONTINUE WITH THE SESSIONS?

    If you would like to discontinue with your sessions, simply send Emily an email to let her know.

    DO YOU OFFER MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS SERVICES?

    These holistic counselling sessions are not designed to work with those going through emergency crisis. Please get in tough with the Mental Health Crisis Team in NZ - 0800 800 717
